Four is the magic number
- Four elements representing each nation in the film: Air, Water, Earth and Fire.
- Four cinematic forces are used to conjure up the on-screen control of fire, water, earth and air. They are: martial arts, stunt work, visual effects and special effects.
- Four styles of the Chinese martial art Wushu were used to differentiate the four types of bending: Airbending - Baguazhang; Waterbending - Tai Chi; Earthbending - Hung Ga; and Firebending - Northern Shaolin Jung Fu.

Who made the film?
It's directed by M Night Shyamalan who has been nominated for a host of top awards in his career to date, including an Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe. He also won an Empire Film Award in 2000. Do you know what film this was for? Check the answer at the end of this section.
But as well as its director, The Last Airbender has a top-flight creative team. You may not know their names, but you'll love their work.
For example, the soundtrack is scored by one of Hollywood's finest and most prolific composers, James Newton Howard, who has worked on a huge variety of recent hits from The Dark Knight to Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.
And The Last Airbender's costumes were designed by Judianna Makovsky, who was also on the crew of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, X-Men: The Last Stand and the National Treasure films.

What's the film's certificate?
The British Board of Film Classification has given The Last Airbender a 'PG' certificate, meaning it's suitable for general viewing (all the family), but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. The BBFC's consumer advice is that the film contains moderate fantasy violence.
